advocacy is an excellent starting point for youth interested in
starting their leadership journey. Tashia Kootenayoo, the Vice-President
Internal for UBC Students’ Union Okanagan, shares advice on how to take
the first steps towards student leadership, creating a student campaign
platform, and dealing with setbacks.
Claiming
Spaces is a collaborative project between Inspiring Women Among Us (at
the University of British Columbia), the Federation of Canadian
Municipalities’ Toward Parity in Municipal Politics program and the City
of Prince George. Aiming to engage and support youth from marginalized
groups to enter leadership positions, Claiming Spaces provides publicly
accessible resources and videos sharing experiences and insights from
inspiring Canadian leaders.
