Over the course of my academic career, spanning some 43 years, I have undertaken research in ten different countries, from China to Greenland and from Canada to Mexico. In this lecture I will share some of the major topics studied (China's reforms, globalisation and neoliberalism), the lessons learned and the political economy approach taken during my academic journey. I will also talk about the major influences upon, and my co-travellers along, this journey.
