Correctional Programs Officer and Indigenous Educator Gerald Bent shares the ups and downs of his educational journey and career decisions. Gerald is a Two-Spirit, Status Indian and a member of the Lytton Indian Band, which is located in the traditional territory of the Nlakapamux nation.
Claiming Spaces is a collaborative project between Inspiring Women Among Us (at the University of British Columbia), the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Toward Parity in Municipal Politics program and the City of Prince George. Aiming to engage and support youth from marginalized groups to enter leadership positions, Claiming Spaces provides publicly accessible resources and videos sharing experiences and insights from inspiring Canadian leaders.
