A graphic syllabus is a visually organized representation of course concepts that enable students to see the “Big Picture” of course concepts and how they relate to each other. This type of creative document is recommended as a supplement to the more formalized, official syllabus document. A graphic syllabus can also be co-created with your students as a collaborative tool to encourage students to take ownership of the course and their learning path. This workshop will present examples of graphic syllabi used by Instructors at UNBC and other institutions, explain the benefits of creating a graphic syllabus, and practical methods on how to create a graphic syllabus (tools, tips, tech, templates).
